One in Custody After Altercation Turns Deadly; Police Say No Ongoing Threat

FAYETTEVILLE, NC — The Fayetteville Police Department is investigating a homicide that occurred Tuesday evening along the 3700 block of Bragg Boulevard. One person has been taken into custody.

At approximately 6:10 p.m. on November 26, officers responded to reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, they located an adult male with a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center where he later succumbed to his injuries. His identity is being withheld pending family notification.

The suspected shooter was detained on scene. Preliminary investigation indicates the victim and suspect were known to each other and that an altercation led to the shooting. Police have stated this was an isolated incident and there is no ongoing danger to the public.

While this appears targeted, residents are encouraged to remain cautious and report any unusual activity in the area, especially along commercial corridors like Bragg Boulevard after business hours.
