Retired CW5 Wendy Wayman, who served alongside both children in Iraq, establishes Whiskey Squared LLC to share military leadership insights
FORT BRAGG — Wendy Wayman, who retired in 2024 as the longest continually serving active duty warrant officer in U.S. Army history, has launched Whiskey Squared LLC, a leadership and resilience speaking venture drawing from her extraordinary 40-year career that included multiple deployments from Fort Bragg.
Wayman’s connection to the Fort Bragg community runs deep, with her service spanning from Cold War operations to multiple tours in Iraq where she uniquely served alongside both her son and daughter—all deployed simultaneously from the same installation. Her retirement ceremony at Fort Bragg in June 2024 marked the end of a 40-year, 5-month, and 10-day career that established her as one of the Army’s most respected technical leaders.
“As the warrant officer, you’re the connective tissue between enlisted soldiers and officers—the subject matter expert, the technical anchor, and the mentor,” Wayman explained in her retirement address. Her mantra, “No is Just the First Step to Yes,” became legendary among Fort Bragg personnel who served under her guidance.
The new venture, named for her Army callsign, will focus on bringing her leadership insights to corporate, academic, and military audiences. Wayman’s presentations draw on her experience as a signals intelligence and electronic warfare analyst, her perspective as a female leader in a technical field, and her documented success in mentoring 34 warrant officers who advanced under her recommendation.
Wayman’s career included extensive work with Fort Bragg-based units and coordination with Special Operations Command. She remains committed to supporting soldiers and veterans, particularly those from the Fort Bragg community where she built much of her career.
In addition to her speaking venture, Wayman serves as Chief Growth Officer at Aumakua Technical Solutions, supporting training and operations for the Department of Defense and intelligence community.
