CEO Caroline Beasley cites “operational discipline” and strong digital margins; parent company of WZFX, WKML, and WUKS highlights cost reductions
FAYETTEVILLE — Beasley Broadcast Group, the parent company of six local radio stations including hip-hop outlet WZFX (99.1 FM), country leader WKML (95.7 FM), and throwback station WUKS (107.7 FM), reported third quarter revenue of $51.0 million, demonstrating resilience in its traditional broadcast segment despite a challenging advertising market.
Commenting on the financial results, Caroline Beasley, Chief Executive Officer, stated: “Our third quarter results demonstrate continued operational discipline. While advertising demand remains challenging, particularly within agency channels, the quality of our revenue mix continues to strengthen, led by sustained growth and record margins in our digital business.”
Beasley highlighted that digital revenue now represents roughly one-quarter of total company revenue, “with owned-and-operated products driving margin expansion and scalability.” She also emphasized significant cost-cutting measures, noting, “We’ve reduced total station operating and corporate expenses by $15 million year-to-date, while improving organizational efficiency.”
The performance of Beasley’s Fayetteville cluster—which also includes WFLB (96.5 FM), WAZZ (93.5 FM), and WZFX-HD2 (94.3 FM)—contributes to the company’s stable core radio operations. These stations serve Cumberland County with hyperlocal content ranging from Fort Bragg updates to local business advertising across multiple formats.
The quarterly report underscores that traditional radio remains a vital medium in the local market, even as the company pivots toward digital expansion. Beasley’s focus on “disciplined execution” and strengthening the balance sheet reflects the broader strategy influencing local station operations.
